Anthropic says Claude led 26% of its measured AI research
Anthropic’s August estimate says Claude led 26% of measured AI R&D tasks, up from under 1% in February, while humans supervised the work. The same measure says Claude collaborated or better on more than 90% of tasks but completed no fully autonomous work.

Anthropic says roughly 950 Claude agents searched more than 200,000 reverse transcriptases and narrowed the work to a candidate system called ART. Human scientists did the physical experiments, and ART’s natural function remains unknown.

A working paper finds no unusual 2026 unemployment spike for new graduates
Researchers using US Census Current Population Survey data report a 7.3% summer unemployment rate for recent college graduates, within the 2022–25 range. They call it an early test, not proof that later cohorts will avoid displacement.
