Bellows 1.22 adds budgets, cross-agent undo, and handoffs
Bellows 1.22 can pause a session at an 80% warning and a dollar, token, or time cap; set one cap on a real task before wider agent use.

Bellows released version 1.22.0 on October 17 as a free desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The update can read when Codex, Gemini CLI, or Qwen Code reaches a plan limit, wait for the reset, or hand the task to another agent. It also adds a session budget in dollars, tokens, or minutes, warns at 80%, pauses at the cap, and asks what to do next. The page shows each turn's time, tokens, and cost.
The same weekly release notes describe cross-agent undo and message editing in version 1.21.0. That makes a session easier to retry, but the notes also point out that pushes, deploys, and migrations outside the folder cannot be undone by file rewind. Bellows is therefore useful as a control panel for local agent work, not as a substitute for a review of actions that leave the workspace.
What you can do with it
Install Bellows on one small coding task, set a dollar or token cap, and watch the 80% warning. Check the turn report, trigger a pause with a short task, and compare the cost with your normal run. Keep the control only if it catches waste before the task becomes expensive.
Our take
Budget stops and readable turn costs make agent work easier to own. The handoff path may also help when one provider reaches a limit. These controls do not reverse outside actions, so pair them with a small task, a review point, and a clear list of what the agent may change.
