Claude adds live dashboards and code-built motion in beta
On Oct 8, Claude added data dashboards and editable motion explainers; charts show their queries and animations are code, so a maker can inspect and revise the output.

Anthropic put Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion into beta on Oct 8. Dashboards can connect to BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, ClickHouse, or Salesforce, answer a question in plain language, and show the query behind each chart. Motion turns reports, charts, text, and images into a short editable animation and can export an MP4.
Dashboards are for paid plans; Motion is for Team and Enterprise. Anthropic says Docs, Slides, and Design are now on every plan, including Free, and that users have made more than 45 million documents, decks, and designs. That usage figure is a company claim, not an independent adoption audit. The useful difference from a video generator is inspectability: a builder can change the query or the animation code rather than accept a sealed clip.
What you can do with it
Try it in Claude with a small, non-sensitive dataset or a quarterly report. Ask for one dashboard or a 30-second explainer, inspect the query or code, and export only after checking the numbers. Dashboards need a paid plan; Motion needs Team or Enterprise.
Our take
This is a stronger creator feature than a new image model because it exposes the work behind the result. The catch is access and data trust: a polished chart can still answer the wrong question, so the visible query and refresh time must be part of the review.
