Claude identifies a CRISPR-like system in viral DNA

Anthropic says about 950 Claude agents searched more than 200,000 reverse transcriptases and narrowed the work to a candidate CRISPR-like system called ART. Human scientists performed the physical experiments, and the system's natural function is still unknown, so the result is a candidate discovery rather than a complete biological explanation.
