Restate raised a $20 million Series A led by Singular, with Redpoint Ventures and Capital One Ventures, the company and TechCrunch report. It provides durable execution for workflows that recover from crashes or network interruptions. Its co-founder said the startup had closed several six- and seven-figure contracts. The funding supports hiring and expansion.

The maker lesson is that reliability work becomes more valuable as an agent takes longer paths and calls more systems. Durable execution preserves progress, but not safety; teams still need idempotency, permissions, review and recovery.

Take one multi-step workflow and kill it at each boundary. Measure what is replayed, what is duplicated, how much state is visible and how quickly a human can correct it. Compare the infrastructure bill with the cost of a failed task before adopting a new execution layer.
