Google plans an October 1 test of an orbital AI data center

Google plans to put four TPUs on its first Suncatcher satellite and run a 15-minute orbital test on October 1. The trial is a feasibility check for solar-powered space compute and a larger constellation; it does not prove that orbital data centers are commercially practical.
