Nolla begins an AI acne-prescription pilot in Utah

Nolla Health says it has started a Utah pilot for AI-powered initial acne prescriptions. It is open to Utah residents aged 18 and older, and the company advertises access from $4.99 per month. The workflow uses an intake questionnaire and a five-angle face scan before producing a treatment plan.

Nolla says a physician oversees every stage. In the first stage, two licensed physicians review and approve each AI-generated prescription for the first 100 patients. Later stages would allow direct issuance with retrospective or sample-based review, but only after safety targets and state approval.

The company says prescriptions can be delivered to a home or pharmacy, and patients can message a licensed physician through the app. This is a company-reported pilot, not proof that AI prescribing is safe for every condition. The pilot excludes cases needing in-person care or added review.
