Reddit announced that RSS feeds will stop working on November 13, 2026, and that public API access will end by March 2027. The company told TechCrunch the changes respond to large-scale scraping and automated abuse. It also said approved third-party apps and bots should register before January 12, 2027, while moderators can move some alerts to its Developer Platform.

This changes the input layer for builders that monitor communities, run research tools, or use Reddit content in an assistant. A public page or old feed is no longer a stable product dependency. A future commercial data deal is a business cost.

Inventory every Reddit feed, API call, cache, and user-facing promise in your product. Separate moderator workflows from research or discovery workflows, then test an approved route or remove the dependency before the first deadline. Do not assume a scrape will remain available.
